This is the area around the lower jaw or jawbone. This type of acne is often associated with excess oil production, when these pores get clogged by skin cells, bacteria, and inflammation. Other factors that contribute are stress, hormonal imbalance, the menstrual cycle, and diet all of which can influence oil production. When certain chemicals block the pores of the skin, the oil gets accumulated, and a skin protein called keratin is produced because of which inflammation occurs.
